Part of a busy town centre street has been closed off by roadworks.
Commercial Road can usually accommodate two lanes of traffic heading from the Brunel West car park towards Regent Circus, but the tarmac and pavement near the top of Havelock Street have been dug up, narrowing the road surface available to motorists.
CityFibre is carrying out utility repair and maintenance works as part of a project to upgrade the town's internet infrastructure which will allow neighbours and businesses to connect to super-fast fibre broadband.
The £40m scheme began in October 2020 and could be finished just after the three-year mark is passed as the gigabit-capable lines have been installed around most of Swindon, with only a few areas still on the to-do list.

Workers have been on-site in Commercial Road since April 17 and the road should be back to normal by the start of this weekend.
Nearby, on Temple Street behind the Premier Inn under construction, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks has closed part of the side street until 5pm on May 9 to establish a new connection to its power grid.
