Signs have gone up in the windows of a Swindon town centre restaurant advising of an unexpected closure.

Members of the public recently noticed that New Delhi Indian Restaurant, situated on Groundwell Road near Regent Circus, appeared to have closed.

All of the furniture inside it has been pushed up against the door and windows and typed-up signs have been put in the windows to let people know it is not currently open for business.

The sign says: "We are temporarily closed until further notice. We will be back shortly, sorry for any inconvenience caused. New Delhi Restaurant."

It is worth noting that 'temporarily closed' has also been underlined on the makeshift posters.

The Adver has attempted to contact the restaurant via phone to find out what has caused the sudden closure, and how long it may last but the number on the front of the building goes straight to an answer phone service.

It has also tried on social media, but it has not received a response there either.

The last post on New Delhi's Facebook page was on April 8 and the last post on its Instagram page was 12 weeks ago at the time of writing.

Regent Circus in Swindon's Town Centre boasts many nearby Indian restaurants like The Khyber and The Jewel in the Crown, but it seems for now there is one less option for local curry lovers.
