A sixth arrest has been made as police continue to investigate the shooting of a Swindon teenager.
A 17-year-old boy was left with life-changing injuries after being shot in a property on Odstock Road, Penhill, on Monday, April 24 just after 12am.
A 31-year-old man joins the growing list of people that have been arrested in connection with the violent incident, police have confirmed in the latest update on the developing case.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "Detectives investigating a shooting incident in which a 17-year-old boy was left with life-changing gunshot injuries have made a further arrest.
"A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the early hours of today and is currently in police custody."
The latest arrest - revealed on Saturday (April 29) brings the total of arrests made to six.
Two were made later on the same day of the shooting. A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life/enable but was released with no further action to be taken.
The other, a 27-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of a firearm.
A third arrest was made on Wednesday, April 26 - a 40-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.
And on Friday morning a man and a woman - both in their 40s - were taken into police custody after being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Superintendent Phil Staynings said: "This incident will undoubtedly have caused concern. We continue to work closely with the community to identify those responsible for this concerning crime.
"There is no place for these criminals in society and with the support of the public we must remove lethal weapons from the streets. Please continue to support the police service as we relentlessly strive to bring people to justice and make contact if there is any information you can share."
A 40-year-old man has been released on bail, while the victim is currently in hospital being treated for his serious injuries.
Wiltshire Police are continuing to ask for any witnesses, or anyone with information to get in touch and help with their investigation.
