A Swindon address has been hit with a closure order by police.
On Friday April 28, the Swindon South Central Neighbourhood Policing team successfully obtained a partial closure order for a property in Park South.
Swindon Magistrates Court agreed with police officers that the address in Kemerton Walk needed to be prohibited and rubber-stamped the legal restriction meaning that no one other than the legal owner may enter.
Anyone who does enter the building, ignoring the closure order, will face legal repercussions.
A spokesperson for the neighbourhood policing team has welcomed the decision and explained some of the reasons for it being necessary.
They said: "This was following concerns from local residents about ongoing anti-social behaviour and disorder at the address. Officers worked closely in partnership with the housing team at Swindon Borough Council to obtain the order.
"There will be an increased police presence in the area who will be conducting regular checks at the premises to help protect a vulnerable person and help reduce anti-social behaviour and disorder in the area.
"If you have any concerns about your neighbour please do not hesitate to contact 101/999."
