A SUSPECTED drug dealer who tried to flee a police helicopter on a motorbike and crashed into a van has been arrested.
On Friday, April 28, a motorbike driver was spotted riding dangerously in the Penhill and Pinehurst areas by an overhead National Police Air Service helicopter.
Officers were guided to Pinehurst Road where the reckless bike rider collided with an innocent member of the public's van.
Photos at the scene then show that a man was detained on the floor, leaving an electric bike sprawled on the floor nearby.
The incident was posted onto the Wiltshire Spec Ops Twitter page, with a Tweet saying: "The rider of this vehicle who unfortunately collided with an innocent MOP is en route to the cells for multiple offences."
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that a man had been arrested.
They said: "A man in his 20’s has been arrested after a motorcycle was spotted being ridden dangerously by the National Police Air Service helicopter at around 4.30pm on [Friday] afternoon.
"Officers were guided to Pinehurst Road where they arrested the man on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug."
