A big business that has been based in Old Town for years has moved into huge new offices elsewhere in the borough.
OutsideClinic is the UK's largest provider of home eye and hearing care services.
To support a network of clinicians across the UK, OutsideClinic employ more than 200 Swindon based colleagues and recently agreed a move to a revamped building in South Marston Industrial Estate over Easter.
After the 22,000sq ft new HQ opened last month, its workforce has settled into open-plan offices on two floors which house most head office departments - such as HR, marketing, finance, and the busy customer contact centre - and will host training and development sessions for new optometrists and audiologists who join the business.
A fleet of 150 electric vehicles will be purchased so that the healthcare experts can visit their clients' homes in an eco-friendly way. It is hoped that being near the A419 will open up job opportunities to a wider area.
Established more than 35 years ago, with a growing team of industry-leading clinicians based across the UK, OutsideClinic is already delivering over 200,000 clinics in people's homes every year.
The company is on track to achieve a record turnover this financial year after acquiring Visioncall, the UK's leading provider of eye care to care homes, Bloom hearing specialists, and Care Opticians.
HR director Corinne Williams hailed this major milestone for the business.
She said: "Everyone was in small, separate rooms in the old offices, whereas here it's really open and feels more spacious, with breakout spaces for informal meetings.
"We wanted to help people have greater levels of communication and engagement. Staff are meeting colleagues they've never had the chance to before because you can just walk over and say hi.
"It's been fantastic, everything is better kitted out here and there is room to expand. We're also trying to arrange more treats and well-being days to support our colleagues.
"Training events are an important part of an optician's ongoing development and for new employees, so being able to host them here will be a huge help.
"We're a clinical business supporting older NHS and private patients and those who are not able to access the High Street services.
"We expect to keep growing as we know there are many more people out there that are desperate for the services we offer - one of our biggest challenges is recruiting enough opticians to meet this demand."
