Police stopped speeding drivers and a van carrying too much doner meat on the M4 near Swindon.
Roads Policing Unit officers stopped the driver of a white van on Tuesday morning because the vehicle appeared to be heavy.
When escorted to the weighbridge, it ended up being 45 per cent overweight.
The driver has been issued fines which a police spokesman said was "equally as heavy" and prohibited the van from continuing until it removed weight.
They also stopped a BMW driver who claimed to have been going 96mph due to being late for work.
A police spokesman added: "Unfortunately, that's not a reason to be exceeding the speed limit. Driver reported to court."
Along with collisions and other stops, the two south RPU cars carried out speed checks and reported drivers to court for going 98mph, 102mph, and 107mph on Monday afternoon.
