A motorbike was stolen from a home in Swindon before being found abandoned with “substantial damages”.
The black Triumph Tiger bike was taken from a property on Churchward Avenue, in Rodbourne Cheney, in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, April 1.
Later that morning the bike was discovered with “substantial damages” near Cheney Manor Road and reported to police.
Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle was stolen in Rodbourne Cheney, Swindon.
“On April 1, at around 1.45am, a black Triumph Tiger was stolen from a property in Churchward Avenue, before being found later that morning near Cheney Manor Road and reported to police.
“The motorcycle was recovered with substantial damages, and we are appealing to the public to locate any witnesses or anyone who has information of the theft.
