A section of coronation bunting put in place in Swindon was torn down by a B&Q lorry, residents have said.
The bunting was on display in Ridge Nether Moor in Liden and was there to mark the coronation of King Charles III which will take place on Saturday.
Yet on Friday morning at around 7.55am, residents saw a B&Q lorry plough into the bunting, tearing it down in the process.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, also claims that she witnessed the driver hesitate about fixing the issue but instead drove off.
“I don’t believe what I have just seen. A B&Q lorry drives into Ridge Nether Moor and drives straight through the coronation bunting, ripping it down,” she said.
“He stopped, thought about it, and just carried on. What is happening to the world?”
The red, white, and blue bunting was left detached for all of Friday.
Another Liden resident who wished not to be named was equally disappointed.
“It is a shame that B&Q have not offered any help to rectify this yet,” she said.
The Adver has approached B&Q for comment.
