There was panic in a high street shop over the bank holiday weekend as a pigeon flew above the heads of shoppers.
Primark, on Regent Street, was operating as normal on bank holiday Monday when a large pigeon flew into the shop by mistake.
At around 2.25pm on Monday afternoon the bird could be seen entering the shop and wildly soaring around the products before settling in the window display.
The bizarre event was witnessed by crowds who flocked to the town centre window to see the winged shopper pose besides mannequins and summer attire.
An onlooker who did not wish to be named spoke to the Adver about the strange experience.
“It was rather shocking as it is not something you see every day,” they said.
“I had just finished paying for my shopping and was about to leave the store when the pigeon flew into the building at high speed.
“It began to fly around in a panicked way until it ventured into the window and stayed there.
“I had to leave soon after but I hope that it found its way back out of the shop soon after.”
The Adver has approached Primark Swindon for comment.
