A popular Swindon pharmacy has announced it will permanently close later this year meaning patients will have to seek alternative options.
Rowlands Pharmacy located within the Co-op supermarket on Old Town’s High Street is a business used by lots of Swindonians.
But the pharmacy will officially close its doors for the final time on Monday, July 31.
The reasons given for the sudden closure relate to the cost of running the businesses.
A Rowlands Pharmacy spokesperson commented: “All pharmacy closures and openings are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and due to the increase in rent and utilities, we have made the difficult decision to close the Rowlands Pharmacy branch inside Co-op on High Street."
The pharmacy team also confirmed that they will look to help any patient who is looking for a new location to attend.
“All patients who attended this branch are being supported, and all vulnerable patients are currently being transferred to a nearby alternative Rowlands Pharmacy branch, where their Pilpouch and delivery services will continue,” continued the pharmacy’s spokesperson.
The Rowlands Pharmacies in Eldene, Park Lane and Toothill will remain open.
