Police have discovered a large cannabis factory containing around 300 plants at a residential property in Swindon.
Officers made the discovery last week at a house on Laburnum Road, just off The Circle in Pinehurst, which was “full of an estimated 300 plants.”
The house has now been processed and a police investigation is underway.
Neighbours reported seeing police forensics teams at the scene for four consecutive days, although a police scene does not appear to still be in place at the property.
No arrests have been made in connection with the factory.
Police have warned members of the public that cannabis factories are often “set up in a variety of places, including residential buildings which look innocuous from the outside.”
Signs that a factory is in operation at a property include the windows being permanently closed, high levels of condensation, a “sweet, sickly aroma”, lots of visitors, high electricity bills, constant ventilation noises and snow melting on the roof in winter.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If you suspect there is a cannabis factory next door, you should phone us on 101 or 999 if a crime is in progress.
“You can also report online to the Wiltshire Police Website or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
