ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A SWINDON road was dramatically closed following reports of a burglary in process.
Bath Road, in Old Town, was shut entirely to the public from Goddard Avenue to the top of Eascott Hill roundabout at 11pm on Friday night.
Wiltshire Police has now confirmed this is because it was responding to a suspected crime in progress.
The force quickly shut off access to the road as they attended to the property allegedly being targeted.

He said: "We responded to reports of a burglary in process at a property in Bath Road, Swindon at around 11pm yesterday (Friday).
"Enquiries are continuing and no arrests have been made as yet."
