A brand new shop is coming to Swindon’s town centre and is moving into the disused space of a former retail favourite.
Cards Direct is currently moving into one of the empty shops on Regent Street, with outside signage including the brand’s logo erected on Wednesday morning.
The company is an independent UK retailer which sells greeting cards, gifts, gift packaging, balloons and partyware at factory prices.
“Our purpose is making people smile and we pride ourselves on offering outstanding customer service, quality products and above all, value for money,” said a statement on Cards Direct’s website.
Work to set up the shop was visible from the street, as shopfront detail was being finalised.
The building formerly housed fellow card shop Clintons Cards but the popular chain unexpectedly closed its doors in on Sunday, March 19, for the final time.
A member of staff said to one customer: "We're closing for good, the rent on the store has risen too high."
It is not yet known when the official opening date for the new store at 5 Regent Street will be.
