The newly restored Burger King restaurant in Swindon has been revealed for the first time since it was destroyed by a fire.

Up until now the construction work to bring the fast food joint back to life has taken place behind scaffolding, fencing and sheets, but recently that has all been removed giving people a glimpse at what has been worked on over the last year or so.

The popular fast food chain's only Swindon branch on Queen's Drive burnt down in an accidental fire which started on the roof in June 2021.

The restaurant has been closed since then, with a temporary drive-thru pod opening in the car park so that loyal Swindon customers can still get their hands on a flame-grilled whopper.

But this pod has also been removed with a large crane on site to help take it away.

A Burger King spokesman previously told The Adver: "Burger King UK can confirm that there will be a restaurant re-opening at this location in the coming months.

"However we do not have further information at this time. We will be in touch when more information becomes available."
