The nation’s favourite aerobatic display team The Red Arrows were spotted flying over a Swindon park this weekend.
The iconic planes flew over Lydiard Park in a stunning spectacle just after 3pm on Saturday, June 10, much to the delight of the onlooking crowds.
They were joined in the Wiltshire skies by two historic Battle of Britain warplanes, the Spitfire and the Lancaster Bomber.
The Spitfire was due to fly over Swindon at 2.40pm on Saturday while the Lancaster Bomber was scheduled to follow suit at 11.40am the next day.
Spectators have the Wiltshire Steam and Vintage rally to thank for the showcase of aerial entertainment.
The annual event brought a mini air show to Swindon on top of its usual array of vintage attractions.
Visitors to the rally were also able to check out displays of working steam engines, classic cars and military vehicles.
This included a display of every model of the Land Rover ever made, to celebrate the brand’s 75th anniversary.
This year was the second time the event had been held at Lydiard Park, following the success of last year’s outing.
