The Swindon Amazon team have donated £1,000 to a local charity supporting people with Down’s syndrome in the town.
Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group is a volunteer-led charity supporting people with Down’s syndrome and their families in Swindon and the surrounding areas.
The donation went towards funding a party for all the families and providing a gift for each of the members.
This was the first time the event had been held since before the pandemic which allowed parents the opportunity to meet with others going through a similar experience.
David Tindal, General Manager at Amazon in Swindon, said: “We’re pleased to lend further support to the great team at Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group.
“The charity is a brilliant help to those in our community living with Down’s syndrome and their families.”
Janeefa Vaz, an Amazon employee who nominated the charity for support, said: “Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group is a brilliant charity so thank you to everyone at Amazon Swindon for championing those with Down’s syndrome with this donation.”
Kim West, Chair of the Swindon Down’s Syndrome Group, added: “We want to say thank you to David and the team at Amazon in Swindon for this donation.
“Community support makes all the difference in helping us continue our efforts.”
