A new restaurant is coming to Swindon with a decidedly South American influence.

For the last few weeks, workers have been busy transforming the former Burger Now store on Commercial Road in the town centre.

Now the new food venue called Recanto which will be offering Brazilian cuisine is just days away from opening - with a grand opening date of June 15.

It will be open from Tuesday to Sunday from 7am to 10pm.

On its website, Recanto says it is aiming to allow people to "experience a culinary journey that celebrates the rich and diverse cuisine of Brazil, from delightful breakfast options to satisfying lunch dishes and irresistible desserts".

The menu aims to showcase a wide range of the South American country's culinary traditions including churrasco-grilled meat and feijoada - the national dish of Brazil.

The building Recanto is moving to was previously occupied by a series of takeaway kitchens, Burger Now, Mexican Now and Sushi Now.

But those businesses moved out of that area earlier this year and moved to the new Regent Circus restaurant Kaizen Burger and Sushi, which opened on May 3.

Days before Kaizen Burger and Sushi opened, the Commercial Road property's new owner Luciano and others were at the building getting it ready to be transformed into Recanto.

The full menu and booking are not currently available on the website, but for more information visit the website www.recanto.uk.
