A Swindon actor will mingle with famous faces from Doctor Who and Harry Potter when the Stars of Time Comic Con returns to the Steam Museum this Saturday.

Organisers hosted the event at the historic venue last year, and are bringing it back by popular demand so that fans will get the chance to meet, get autographs, and take photos with icons from their favourite franchises.

David Bradley, who played caretaker Argus Filch in the Harry Potter films and portrayed William Hartnell's First Doctor in recent Doctor Who episodes, tops the bill this time.

Katy Manning, who played the Third Doctor's companion Jo Grant, will also be attending along with Christopher Ryan - who appeared as a Sontaran in the series and starred as Mike in the '80s comedy The Young Ones - and Hugh Spight, who had a role in Star Wars Episode VI and operated Daleks and The Dark Crystal puppets.

Swindonian Nathan Pegler has been a background actor in Poldark, No Time to Die, His Dark Materials, and Jodie Whittaker's final episode of Doctor Who.

After appearing at last year's Stars of Time event as an art trader, he will now be signing autographs with the other Doctor Who actors.

Other artists and illustrators in the 2023 lineup include Ben Krefta, David Cousens, and Ellstrations.

Nathan said: "It's great to be back at this event in my hometown, it's going to be a good one, there's a lot of buzz.

"As such a big Doctor Who fan, I'm so chuffed to be in the lineup with these iconic folk. I was just in the background as a soldier in a new UNIT uniform.

"I'm hoping to get one of my collectibles signed."

Nathan currently has a recurring role as a barista in Casualty and has filmed scenes for Father Brown and the new series of Outlaws as well as a Disney project that he is sworn to secrecy over.

He added: "I don't know what's happening from one month to the next.

"Sometimes it's a bit slow and you wonder what the coming months will be like, then lots of offers suddenly come in.

"I've been lucky this year, I'm spoilt for choice at the moment, it's like a juggling act."

There will also be prop displays, cosplay competitions, lightsaber training sessions, virtual reality experiences, collectibles, and areas themed around Star Wars, Doctor Who, Batman, and Indiana Jones.

Tickets can be bought at the door or booked in advance from www.starsoftime.co.uk/swindon
