On Royal International Air Tattoo weekend, it seems like a good time to look back into the history of this spectacular show.
The oldest images in the Adver archive for RIAT come from 1991, when it attracted record-breaking crowds of around 300,000 people.
Among the many guests was defence secretary Tom King, who greeted pilots and crews from the Czech and Slovak Air Force and remarked of the novelty of being on friendly terms with military members of countries who were on the opposite side of the Cold War to the UK just a few years earlier.
Airshow experts enjoyed looking at the long lines of aircraft parked at the RAF base which then showed off in spectacular sky-bound displays.
Vintage vehicle lovers can peruse the photo of the event's vast car park for dozens of examples of cars that are no longer seen on British roads.
There'll be more reminiscing about RIAT in the coming days, so keep an eye out for our next galleries.
