An amateur British snapper took jaw-dropping photographs of cutting-edge military jets at RIAT.

Martyn Foss got the opportunity to get up close with the warplanes last week.

The 36-year-old from Chester took these impressive images as the aircraft arrived at the Royal International Air Tattoo in Gloucestershire - and Martyn was able to fly in their path for the ultimate photo op.

His pictures include those of cutting-edge warplanes such as U.S. F15 Strike Eagles, Italian Air Force Tornados and the German Eurofighter EF2000.

The full-time healthcare professional says he was fulfilling a dream when he arranged the adrenaline-fuelled experience.

Martyn said: "It was amazing to see frontline fighter jets from the U.S. Air Force alongside the other aircraft and flying in formation.

"I have been going to airshows for over ten years. It was always my ambition to do some air-to-air photography.

"The company I used was Aviation PhotoCrew; they specialise in providing these photo missions.

"You never expect to find yourself so close in the air to such amazing jets."

The Royal International Air Tattoo is the world's largest military air show, held annually in July, usually at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England in support of The Royal Air Force Charitable Trust.
