Filming has begun in Swindon for a new movie starring actors from EastEnders, Coronation Street and new Hollywood release Barbie.
Look To The Light follows wannabe celebrity influencer Eddie Reynolds, who chases fast fame at the cost of his personal life and moral integrity.
The film, written and directed by Christopher Manoe, will star Charlie Goddard who comes to the project fresh from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and the upcoming Warner Bros movie musical Wicked.
Kele Le Roc stars alongside Goddard and is a double MOBO award winning queen of UK garage with two chart topping singles collaborating with the likes of Basement Jaxx and Coolio.
The new feature examines themes of the pitfalls of reality TV, social media toxicity and Gen Z’s mental health struggles.
Also in the cast is Lucy Benjamin of Eastenders - where she currently plays Lisa Fowler - and Detectorists while Sharon Duce of Coronation Street and Emmerdale also stars.
“I’m proud to be a part of anything that brings real stories to the forefront,” said Le Roc.
“Young people of today with dreams and ambition have a much tougher journey ahead.”
Goddard added: “I am very excited to join such an incredible cast of actors and I’m really looking forward to telling Eddie’s complex story.”
Production shoots have begun in Swindon this month.
