A Mercedes driver has been accused of using a fake Italian driving licence.
Artan Ciliku of Selkirk Road, Bristol, allegedly produced driving licence when he was stopped by police in Swindon in December 2022.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on July 18, charged with three offences.
He pleaded not guilty to driving otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence, and driving without insurance.
Ciliku, 35, did not enter a plea to a third charge of using a false instrument with intent it be accepted as genuine, an offence under the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981.
The court was told that the defendant was driving a silver Mercedes C220 when he was pulled over by police.
The prosecutor, Kate Prince, said that when Ciliku was asked to present his licence when he presented a document which was identified as a fake Italian licence
Both offences took place at White Hart Roundabout in Swindon.
He has been released on unconditional bail and will appear at Swindon Crown Court on August 8.
