The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for high winds across Wiltshire this weekend.
Saturday’s forecast could see “unseasonably” windy weather hit the south west of the county in particular with areas including Devizes, Trowbridge and Warminster all affected.
The windy conditions are expected to last between 6am on Saturday morning before dying down later on in the day at around 9pm.
It is expected that journey times will be longer and cancellations will occur given road, rail, air and ferry services on the south coast are all likely to be affected.
There is also a chance that some roads and bridges could close and that power cuts may occur with the potential to affect mobile phone coverage.
Residents have also been warned about the small chance of flying debris as well as some damage to buildings such as tiles blown from roofs.
A statement from the Met Office said: “Unseasonably windy weather will affect parts of the UK on Saturday leading to a risk of disruption to travel and outdoor activities.”
All information is correct as of Thursday afternoon and there are currently no signs that the high winds in Wiltshire will continue into Sunday.
