One Swindon’s most popular fish and chip shops has earned itself full marks on its food hygiene rating following a recent inspection.
Swindon Fish Bar on Cheney Manor Road in Rodbourne was inspected by the Food Standards Agency on Thursday, July 6.
It earned a five out of five score for its efforts during the inspection of several different areas.
The report found that the eatery’s hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was very good.
In terms of cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building, the fish and chip shop was regarded as very good.
This includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.
The inspection also found that the system and checks were in place to ensure that food sold and served is safe to eat.
Food Standards Agency also reported that there was evidence that staff knew about food safety with that the food safety officer having confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
