Swindon as a town has been responsible for producing a number of famous faces that many would consider to be celebrities like former glamour model and television presenter Melinda Messenger, actress and singer Billie Piper, Hollywood icon Diana Dors and Apprentice and Countdown star Nick Hewer among them.

Over the years, Swindon has also attracted visits from many notable names, from high profile Royal engagements to big blockbuster stars and even the occasional hometown return - like when Melinda Messenger's recent visit to open the new Jolleyes Pets Store in West Swindon.

For the rest of us ordinary folk, spotting a celebrity in and around the town can be a memorable experience, especially if you actually get to interact with them (and realise they're also just ordinary folk really).

So we wanted to find out what celebrity appearances Adver readers could remember being involved in, or seeing in Swindon.
