A dessert bar in Swindon town centre has been awarded a perfect food hygiene rating.
Mylo’s Desserts of 104 Commercial Road was inspected by the Food Standards Agency on Thursday, July 13.
The report found the eatery’s hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage to be very good.
This led to the business upgrading its previous score of four to a five rating and manager Courteney Spratt from Eastleaze is proud of her team.
“We were ecstatic to have that because we worked as a small team together and it’s a group effort in achieving this,” she said.
“All our staff are very friendly and we love chatting to our customers which brings a sense of friendliness which I think is needed in the world we are living in today.”
Mylo’s Desserts started off in 2020 as a Reading ice cream van before a shop was opened in the town.
The company moved to Swindon in December 2021 to serve milkshakes, ice cream and puddings, with the 23-year-old manager starting in April 2022.
“Prices are going up everywhere but we are trying to lower them so that families can go out with their children and treat them without spending too much,” said Courteney.
“We manage to get more customers by being more affordable than the bigger chains.”
