A new sandwich takeaway in Swindon has received full marks for its food hygiene following its first ever inspection.
The Lunch Box is located within BSS House in Cheney Manor and was founded just eight weeks ago, serving a variety of sandwiches and paninis.
Following an inspection by the Food Standards Agency on Tuesday, June 20, the new business gained a five out of five rating.
The eatery’s hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was deemed to be good.
Owner Debbie Mifsud from Liden is a seasoned catering pro and was relieved to see her latest venture given the all clear.
“I was very impressed and really happy because we’re going in the right direction, that’s the main thing,” she said.
“It is good to know that I haven’t lost my touch as I’ve always been involved in catering and when the five stars are coming in then I’m obviously doing something right.”
The 61-year-old solely runs The Lunch Box having previously worked for others in the catering sector.
“It happened overnight with me looking for my own place and even though it is hard work when you’re alone, it’s paying off,” said Debbie.
“It’s a personal service as I’m very particular about packaging and presentation with all food being cooked fresh and to order.”
