A pensioner has been left with a broken hip after he was hit by a mobility scooter which failed to stop.
The victim, a man in his 70s, had been outside Tick Tock Playgroup, near the Ellendune Shopping Centre in Wroughton, when he was struck by a mobility scooter at around 1.15pm on Sunday, August 20.
He suffered a broken hip in the incident and required emergency surgery.
The man riding the mobility scooter is now being hunted by police after failing to stop and identify himself at the scene.
He is described as a white male in his 60s with white hair and was seen riding a dark coloured mobility scooter.
The suspect also had a light-coloured dog with him.
Investigating officers have urged any witnesses to the alleged hit and run to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Enquiries are currently ongoing – anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the vicinity of the Ellendune Shopping Centre at the time and may have information which could assist should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54230088158.
“Alternatively, call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
