A MAN who was arrested went on to urinate and spit inside a police van while officers took him to the station.
Robert McLachlan, of Heath View Drive, Salisbury, was arrested at Whitehill Farm House in Pitton on April 27.
Officers arrested McLachlan based on information that later turned out to be untrue.
During the journey to Swindon Police Station in Gablecross, McLachlan asked officers to loosen his handcuffs and requested they let him use a toilet but they refused.
This led to the 32-year-old becoming angry, kicking the van and urinating inside it before going on to spit, trying to force himself to vomit.
McLachlan pleaded guilty to criminal damage and was ordered to pay £230.40 compensation, a £40 fine and a £16 surcharge at Salisbury Magistrates Court on Friday, August 18.
This will be added to his outstanding £197 court fine and deducted from his benefits.
