A Swindon schoolgirl has designed a local hospice’s Christmas cards for this year after winning a competition.
Matilda Palmer created the design of two reindeer depicted in a snowy wonderland and wowed the judges at Prospect Hospice.
The 10-year-old won the hospice’s Design a Christmas card competition, receiving a personalised gift basket as well as five packs of her very own card to give to friends and family.
"I can't believe I won! Drawing makes me really happy, and I wanted to make people smile when they see my reindeer,” said Matilda.
Matilda’s mum, Rachel, said: “When Matilda’s nanny, who volunteers in the Prospect Hospice charity shop in Wroughton, told her about the competition she jumped at the chance to enter.”
Victoria Canavan, head of retail at Prospect Hospice, said: “Matilda’s drawing of the reindeer captures the joy and magic of Christmas in a truly enchanting way. Her card will bring warmth and cheer to all who will see it.”
The Christmas card is now available at £4 for a pack of ten with all proceeds helping the charity provide free end of life care to local people and their families.
You can buy Matilda’s card as well as a range of Christmas cards in all of the Prospect Hospice charity shops or online here.
