A new burger joint located in Swindon’s town centre has been given a five out of five food hygiene rating.

Mooba Street Food can be found at The Crossing within the upstairs level of the Brunel Shopping Centre.

The eatery began with a food van in Cheltenham during April of 2022 and now serves a variety of burgers and street food across the South West.

It achieved the top score following a visit from the Food Standards Agency on Thursday, August 24.

Its hygienic handling of food which includes preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was deemed to be very good.

The report went on to state that Mooba’s cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building was also to a very good standard.

This consists of having an appropriate layout as well as ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene.

The management of food safety which ensures that a system or checks are in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat was marked as good.

This means that there is evidence that the staff know about food safety, and that the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future.
