12th century Lamb Inn reopens after revamp - look inside

Closed through much of July, the aim was to keep the layout of the Lamb Inn in Hindon, but to make it a more welcoming space while enhancing its olde-worlde character.

Manager Becky Judd-Dec said: “So much has been redone or replaced, and the woodwork has been stripped right back. We have maintained all the original features.

“We have so many entrances into the bar, but now, so many people say it is welcoming and homely. It has more of a pub feel and is less formal. People can come in and find a comfortable seat everywhere.”

There is a rustic bar and dining space. Customers can try out the various cask ales and local brews or for wine enthusiasts, there is a wide range of wines sourced from around the world.

All-day menus have been carefully created by Head Chef James Braithwaite.

Becky said: "We use British produce and seasonal plates and source where the food comes from."

There are 18 individually designed bedrooms for guests and each has its unique character from cosy to a Feature Boutique with a freestanding bath. 

For the first time ever, the Lamb has organised a full events list.  

Becky said: “We started with a quiz. It went surprisingly well.”
