Plans to build a new £30 million service station on the M4, just south of Swindon, have been revealed.
A consultation has been launched over plans for a motorway rest area at junction 16 of the motorway.
The proposal has been put forward by Moto Hospitality, the UK’s largest motorway services operator, and would see the construction of a large “sustainable” site to the South East of the carriageway.

This includes electric vehicle charging infrastructure, such as 50 EV chargers, and 62 new HGV spaces.
Moto claim the scheme would create 150 jobs and benefit from “highly sustainable” design, boasting solar panels, a green living roof and three acres of new wildlife habitats.
Locals can have their say on the plans until September 29 on the Moto website, ahead of an outline planning application being submitted to Wiltshire Council.
Moto property director Jess Lockwood said: “We recognise we have a huge part to play in reducing carbon emissions from transport and we are fully focused on reducing range anxiety for UK motorists through capacity, reliability, simplicity and charging speed.
“We are committed to ensuring that our proposals for Junction 16 of the M4 reflect local priorities and look forward to hearing feedback from residents and local stakeholders, in advance of submitting an outline planning application to Wiltshire Council.”
