A family-run café in Swindon has been awarded the top food hygiene rating for the fourth year in a row.
Macca’s Café at the Groundwell Industrial Estate earned a five-out-of-five score following an inspection on August 11.
The café, which has been in the town for over 30 years, was found to have very good hygienic food handling and its management of food safety was also deemed as good.
Owner Yan Macieszonek from North Swindon has been at the forefront of the café since 2017 and was proud of the achievement.
“This is the fourth year we have received a five-star rating and I’m really chuffed about that,” he said.
“It is really important because the cleaner the place the more people we get coming in.
The 47-year-old works alongside his two sons to provide the community with a variety of meals from breakfast to late-night chicken burgers.
“It’s hard work I’m not going to lie but I don’t plan on going anywhere any time soon,” said Yan.
“We have been a family-owned business for six years now and that is something I am so proud of as me and my two boys all work here.
“With the food, if they ask for it and we have got it, we will make it for them.”
