Police have revealed the Wiltshire locations where they will be lying in wait for speeding drivers in the coming week.

Officers have been conducting speed checks in towns and villages across the county in recent days.

This included a number of operations in and around Swindon.

Speed enforcement was carried out on Wanborough Road, Purley Road and Eldene Drive, leading to seven motorists being issued either speed awareness courses, points, fines or a summons to court.

On top of this, a further 48 drivers were "provided with suitable words of advice regarding their speed".

Now police have revealed more areas where they plan to tackle speeders.

In the week beginning Monday, October 2, officers from the Swindon North, East and Rural policing team have confirmed they will be checking speed in Chiseldon, Wroughton, Liddington and Tadpole Lane.

Police will also be lying in wait in Charlton, Lyneham, Cricklade, Little Somerford and Royal Wootton Bassett during the coming weeks.

Officers say this is part of Project Zero, their weekly road safety campaign that aims to remind drivers to be safe and watch their speed.

Marlborough Police Force has confirmed they will be out and about doing speed enforcement checks in the Enford, Marlborough, Lockeridge and Avebury areas next week.

This comes after councillors have raised concerns about speeding drivers in Marlborough following debate about extending the 20mph speed limit area.

Devizes Police will be particularly focussing on the Rowde area, and Trowbridge Police will also be out checking speed in Trowbridge.
