POLICE and other emergency services responded 'in force' to a crash near Swindon train station.
A white van is believed to have ploughed into three other vehicles, another van and two cars, just before the Gloucester Street turning on Station Road at around 8.15pm on Friday, September 29.
One witness who was at the scene said they thought 'it must have been going about 70mph.'
Police closed the road between Cheltenham Street and the train station to motorists while they dealt with the damaged vehicles, but the Adver understands that other than one instance of whiplash, no-one suffered any serious injuries.
The road was closed until roughly 10.30pm.
Swindon's Bus Company announced that this crash had caused significant delays to its services in the area, with a post on its Twitter page also suggesting that the van had been stolen, although this is not yet confirmed.
It said: "Due to a stolen van crashing in Swindon Town Centre, emergency services are attending in force and our services are heavily delayed by associated congestion.
"We are doing what we can to bring our buses back to time and correct routes but expect some delays."
Wiltshire Police has been approached to confirm this and for further details.
