A Chinese takeaway in Swindon has been given a new food hygiene rating.
Beijing Chef on Cricklade Road was given a four-out-of-five score following an inspection by Swindon Borough Council’s Environmental Health team on Thursday, September 7.
The report stated that the eatery’s hygienic handling of food, which includes the preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage of food, was to a very good standard.
Inspectors also deemed Beijing Chef’s management of food safety to be at a good level as well.
This regards having a system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat as well as there being evidence that staff know about food safety.
Following the inspection, the food safety officer had confidence that standards would be maintained in future.
It was with the cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building that the restaurant fell short of the top score of five.
This includes having the appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control to enable good food hygiene but the report only found this to be generally satisfactory at Beijing Chef.
