A Swindon gardening group has won gold at the RHS Britain In Bloom awards.
Tadpole Garden Village In Bloom is a community-led volunteer group which was set up four years ago for the residents of the relatively new area.
With big group projects, the collective has spruced up large sections of the TVG area by fundraising.
Some of these initiatives have included the installation of a community greenhouse, village planters, hanging baskets, installation of a village memorial and the refurbishment of a garden for Dementia patients at Great Western Hospital.
They have entered the RHS Britain In Bloom competition for the last few years and continually improved on previous results with their best yet coming on Tuesday evening.
Tadpole Garden Village In Bloom was awarded Gold at this year’s awards ceremony.
A spokesperson for the volunteer group said: “We look to encourage people of all ages and abilities to take pride in where they live through horticulture, environment and community.
“The team are absolutely delighted with this year’s results of Gold and ‘Best Community Initiative’ trophy which rewards its volunteers for four years of hard work in the local community.”
