A Swindon pub currently has what has been described as a massive 'mutant' pumpkin as part of a competition that they are holding.

Members of the public can head down to the Strawberry Thief pub in Tadpole Garden village and guess the weight of the 'mutant' pumpkin.

The pumpkin has been donated to the pub by Heritage Fine Foods who have already run a competition on their social media for people to guess the weight.

The winner of the competition, which is running throughout October, will win a Sunday lunch for 2 and a bottle of house wine at the Strawberry Thief, as well as a medium seasonal fruit and veg box. One runner-up will also win a pack of Arkell’s ale.

Emma Charlton, Heritage’s Marketing Manager said: “When the opportunity arose to obtain this pumpkin our Sales Director jumped at the chance.

"Our customers have really enjoyed guessing its girth size on social media so now it’s time for a whole new group of Arkell’s customers to see it in its glory and now try and guess its weight”.

Julie Moss, Arkell’s Managed House Controller said: “We are really excited to welcome the mutant pumpkin and sure that our customers will have a lot of fun trying to guess its weight."
