A man in his 40s has been charged following a firearms callout in Upper Stratton, Swindon.
Armed officers were called to an address in Burns Way, Upper Stratton on Friday morning following a report of a man with a suspected firearm.
Dean Snarey, 42 of Burns Way in Swindon has now been charged with possession of a firearm while committing a schedule one offence and blackmail.
Snarey has been remanded in custody and is due to attend Swindon Magistrates' Court on Monday, October 9.
The callout had the whole neighbourhood interested, as multiple residents came out of their houses when they heard a police helicopter circling overhead, with seven police cars, and police dogs at the scene.
