SEVERAL Swindon-based businesses are thousands of pounds out of pocket following the collapse of Wilko. 

Hundreds of other businesses are owed money by the company which collapsed last month after 93 years on the high street. 

Statement of Affair documents recently released by Wilko’s administrators reveal the budget retail chain owes £157,261,588 to its creditors. 

Among them are four firms in Swindon owed a total of £375,917 between them.

The biggest debt is owed to Coca-Cola Europacific Partners which are based on Binknoll Lane, Interface Business Park and is owed £311,004. 

As well as this, Workman LLP on Minton Place, an independent commercial property management and building consultancy, is owed £39,642, Zurich Assurance is owed £25,000 and GJ Handy Distribution on Murdock Road is owed £271. 

Both Swindon stores closed last month, with the Greenbridge Retail Park store shutting for good on September 19 and The Parade store closed permanently on September 21. 

Some Wilko stores were sold to other retailers, but the majority of the firm's hundreds of stores were confirmed to close with around 12,500 employees losing their jobs.
