A popular Swindon venue is hosting its very own Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest is one of the biggest events of the year in Germany, with millions of people flying from all over the world to attend the historic event in Munich.
Traditional German food and huge glasses of beer are hallmarks of the iconic event.
But Swindon will be staging its own version of the event later this month.
MECA, the popular entertainment venue, is holding an Oktoberfest event on October 21.
The event is an 18+ event and is going on from 6pm on Saturday. General admission is £16 per person however VIP tables are available.
German culture will be right on Swindon residents doorstep in no time as the event will include all of the usual Oktoberfest traditions.
The venue will have three different types of German beers on top of their usual bar selection and an oompah band to get everybody dancing.
Attendees will be able to get their hands on a litre of beer in the traditional German Stein.
The food on offer includes traditional bratwurst as well as baked salted pretzels.
Justin Britchford, manager at MECA said: “Expect foot stomping, table bashing and hearty singing galore.”
