A Swindon fish and chip shop has improved its food hygiene rating after a recent inspection.
Sims Chippy of Beechcroft Road was visited by Swindon Borough Council’s Environmental Health team on Thursday, October 5.
The report found the facilities to be of a very good standard and awarded the shop a five-out-of-five score.
Team Leader Felycia Fruci is proud of the team’s efforts to bump up the rating given it was previously a four.
“We had a four last time because of the boss’ paperwork so it is amazing to go up one as I have worked very hard with the staff here,” she said.
“Every day the place is cleaned from top to bottom and every few days we do a deep clean of the fridges and freezers."
The 41-year-old loves the environment at Sims and prides herself on the restaurant’s hygiene.
“I think every company should be at least five stars and personally, I wouldn’t eat in anything that’s less than a four,” she said.
“It’s like a little family here because it doesn’t feel like work and we always have time for our customers.
“We put a lot of hard work in for this so it feels nice to be recognised.”
