A Westlea man has been banned from West Swindon’s Asda after being accused of assault.
Kai Youlden, of Frampton Close, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday, October 14, facing one charge each of assault by beating, assault by beating of an emergency worker, and racially or religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress.
The offences are said to have occurred on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Swindon, when he allegedly assaulted a woman, beat a female police officer who was acting in the exercise of her functions as an emergency services worker, and harassed a victim by using offensive language.
The 30-year-old has been remanded on conditional bail until his next hearing at Swindon Magistrates Court on the morning of Tuesday, October 24, when he is expected to enter pleas of either guilty or not guilty to the charges against him.
Until then, he is banned from going to the West Swindon District Centre – including the West Swindon Asda superstore and the Link Centre – unless his journey there is to get on or off a bus at the nearby bus stop.
