Multiple flood alerts have been issued for several areas across Swindon and Wiltshire after heavy rain overnight has caused huge disruption.
Areas around Dauntsey in particular, which covers part of the M4, have been issued a flood warning, which is a step more severe than a flood alert.
Residents in that area are being warning to “act now”, as properties are at high risk of flooding. The floods are also likely to cause disruptions on the M4.
At the Dauntsey Brook, river levels are rising. At 9.45am, they were at 1.93 metres, which is classed as 'high' and well above the normal level of 1.4m.
At this level, property flooding is possible, the Environment Agency warns.
There is a flood alert for the wider Upper Bristol Avon area, which covers Royal Wootton Bassett, Dauntsey and Chippenham.

At 10.45am, a second 'act now' flood warning was issued for the area between Chippenham, Lacock and Melksham.
It warned flooding was expected and properties were at risk of flooding.
The Environment Agency has warned that the River Cole and Dorcan Brook area in East Swindon down to Buscot Wick could also overflow as hours of downpours drench the town.
A spokesperson said: "Monitor local water levels and weather conditions.
"Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
"Start acting on your flood plan if you have one."
River levels here are listed at 3.55m and falling, but as of 9.45am, are still well above the top of the normal range, which is 2.82m.
Other areas in and around Swindon that are under threat of flooding include:
- The River Ray and Swinbourne for West Swindon
- The River Cole and Dorcan Brook for East Swindon
- The River Thames and its small tributaries from Calcutt to Lechlade
- Tributaries on the Upper River Thames above Cricklade.
For the rest of Wiltshire, the Mid River Avon and tributaries including Melksham and Bradford on Avon are at risk.
This comes after Storm Babet has already caused huge traffic chaos.
All of Swindon’s train lines have been blocked by flooding as a result of heavy overnight rainfall, and multiple roads have suffered badly.
