MEMBERS of Kiss Gym in Swindon were surprised to receive an email informing them of an abrupt closure.

The local facility in the Paramount Building on Princes Street is usually open 24 hours a day for 365 days a year - but not for part of the November 11/12 weekend.

The email, sent on Friday just hours before the closure, said that the gym would be closing at 10pm on Friday, November 10 and would not be reopening until 7am on Sunday, November 12.

It added: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, we're very sorry to tell you that we are needing to close Kiss Gyms for this period.

"Other than during Covid, this is the first time in 12 years we have had to close from our normal 24/7/365 operations.

"Please bear with us during this time and we're extremely sorry for this inconvenience."

The gym added that anyone with day passes for Saturday would be refunded.

The Adver has made efforts to contact the gym to find out the reason for the sudden closure.

When the paper attempted to call the gym, it received a message saying "the destination number is not accepting calls".
