One of Swindon's newest schools will be hosting a week of activities for underprivileged children.
Headstart Skillz will be running activities for underprivileged children within Swindon at the Deanery CE Academy in Wichelstowe in December.
The Deanery was recently rated inadequate by Ofsted.
The week will be run from December 18 for five days and will include a variety of activities which are designed to prepare children for the future and teach them a variety of skills.
The activity is part of a scheme which is being partly funded by the government and partly funded by TGV Barbers.
The camp is part of the Holidays Activities and Food Programme.
The topics covered across the week will include First Aid, Personal Finance, Self-Defence, Online Safety and Nutrition.
Nick Taylor, Jack Wright and Mark Draycott are co-founders of Headstart Skillz.
Nick, 30, said: “We have chosen the Deanery because they have fantastic facilities and it is an area of Swindon we have not had a camp before, we are able to make sure that children around there can have things to do.”
Jack, 32, added: “We want to educate them on the fact that the world isn’t a scary place and give them the confidence for the future.
“This is what Headstart is here to do, to listen and to help.”
