SWINDON residents may well think it is Christmas every day because a parish council has announced details of three separate light switch-on events.

South Swindon Parish Council has announced that it will be placing three Christmas trees across the southern area of the town, with locations in Broadgreen, Badbury Park and Cavendish Square set to get a festive addition.

A spokesperson said: "In 2021 the parish council placed a Christmas tree at Cavendish Square and then expanded that provision to include a tree at Broadgreen Community Centre in 2022.

"This year we are placing another tree outside our new community hub in Badbury Park."

The first of three events to mark the switching on of Christmas lights at each tree will be taking place on November 21 at Broadgreen Community Centre at 5pm, with the switch-on at 5.30pm.

As well as the lights themselves, Rhythmix Goa will be performing carols, and the Harbour Project will be providing tea and coffee along with homemade samosas.

Then on November 22 it is the turn of Badbury Park Community Hub which starts at 5pm with the light switch on at 5.30pm.

The library will be running a special Christmas storytime at 5.20pm and food will be offered by Wonky Pizzas and Lizzy Bakes and Santa will be there in his grotto.

Finally, on November 23, Cavendish Square will host light-swich on festivities at 5pm with St John's Church providing musical entertainment. Wonky Pizza, Lizzy Bakes and Santa's Grotto will also be returning.
