A woman has been charged after a crash between two vehicles and a car collided with a building.

Zoe Higginson of Braemor Road, Calne is said to have fled the scene after the crash which took place on Oxford Road on Saturday, November 18.

Higginson has since been charged with drunk driving as well as failing to stop after a traffic accident.

The collision was first reported to Wiltshire Police at 7.33pm on Saturday. According to Wiltshire Police, after fleeing the scene, Higginson was very quickly detained and returned to the scene of the crash.

Both drivers involved were breathalysed and Higginson was found to be over the legal limit. She was arrested and held in custody before being charged.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Thankfully, people within the vehicles only sustained very minor to no injuries, and no damage was caused to the building.”

An account of the incident was posted on the Calne Police Facebook account which detailed other incidents which took place in Calne on the same day including two incidents of anti-social behaviour.

Higginson will appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on December 12.
